The 48th Paladins Champion, Octavia, has been revealed and will arrive in the game soon.
If you're looking to learn about the new hero and how she'll work in game, we've got everything you need to know.
The reveal trailer for Octavia has just been released and you can see it below.
It shows off her abilities, what she looks like, and how she'll play in-game. As the video's description reads: "Octavia can control the flow of battle to give her team the upper hand!"
As for when Octavia will actually arrive in Paladins, all we know is that she's scheduled for a March 2021 release.
We're sure that the final, specific release date will be revealed soon enough, so keep your eyes peeled.
Since no exact date has been announced, and we're already into March, Octavia will probably arrive in the second half of the month.
Weapons She'll Use
The trailer says that she'll be "armed with a scoped DMR and a set of tactical abilities," but the breakdown article that accompanies it breaks down the weapons at her disposal a little further.
The rifle will be: "a semi-automatic marksman rifle that deals 500 damage every 0.3s, has a maximum Ammo count of 12, and is fully effective up to 900 units."
There's also be an Alt Fire option, which does the following:
"Look down your sights and gain increased accuracy; your Movement Speed is reduced by 50%. Using this ability while you are in the air stops your movement, allowing you to fire for up to 2.5s. While active, this ability allows you to see enemies within friendly and enemy Distortion Fields."
Octavia's Skills, Talents, & Stats
First of all, and arguably most importantly, she'll have 2200 health in-game.
Then, just as all Champions do, she'll have two abilities and an Ultimate ability. They are:
Ability 1: Commanding Leap - Leap into the air to gain control of the battlefield. Aiming down sights with your rifle will cause you to levitate in air for up to 2.5s
Ability 2: Distortion Field - Create an opaque dome that hides allies and prevents from seeing outside of it while inside ; ability lasts for 4s. Enemies caught within the Distortion Field will have their Movement Speed reduced by 10%.
Ultimate: Creeping Barrage - Rain down a laser barrage upon your enemies that deals 850 damage per beam – the Creeping Barrage is cast out in a devastating line in front of Octavia. The beam cluster is setup into two parts: a smaller targeting beam that deals 100 damage and destroys shields. if it makes contact, and the large damaging beam that deals 850 damage.
Her Talents will be Hell or High Water, Asymmetric Warfare at level 2, and Display of Force at level 8.
There will also be three skins for you to unlock shortly after Octavia is released in Paladins.
The first is called Maverick and will be obtainable via the Season Pass until it ends.
Second is a skin called Commander and you can spend 200 Crystals or 60,000 Gold to unlock it.
Finally, the third skin you'll be able to get in Paladins for Octavia is called Golden Octavia and is given for reaching Mastery level 50 with the Champion.
As more news is revealed on Octavia as we get closer to her release, we'll be sure to keep you updated.
