Outer Worlds 2 Announced at Xbox showcase

The Outer Worlds was a delightful addition to GamePass when it landed in October 2019. It brought with it great writing, an interesting story and some witty political criticisms.

With Xbox purchasing RPG giants, Obsidian, almost three years ago, their bet has really paid off with the depth of quality they are offering the company over the future. Outer Worlds 2 is just one of the reasons Obsidian were worth banking in. Here's everything we know about the announcement.

The Outer Worlds 2 Announcement

Today, in Xbox's E3 conference, there was so much to take in and so many new announcements to pay attention to. We saw information on Back 4 Blood, Hades, Psychonauts 2, Microsoft Flight Simulator and so much more. Check out the latest announcements on RealSport or over on the Twitter account to catch up.

The announcement was very short and very aware of the fact it was quite early in development so we didn't receive a release date or many details.

What Was That Trailer?

The trailer was a self-deprecating look into their own development - in line with the biting humour the game offers upfront. This is all a way of satirizing itself, and other games as an extension of this. An announcer speaks of all the subtle tricks they play to build up some sense of scale or wow you with its visuals. Although intended to make fun of itself, this could easily be making fun of the Starfield reveal and release date trailer too.

If you liked this humour and want a game that's very critical of itself whilst being a great shooter RPG akin to Fallout New Vegas, you can play the original Outer Worlds on Game Pass right now.
