Platforms & Price
Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game is set to release on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC (via Steam), Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
While technically moving to next gen because of optimization for Xbox Series X|S, there won't be any changes to the features in this Olympics Video Game on next gen.
All Olympic Games Video Game Sports & Events
So far, a total of 18 different events or sports are known to be available in the upcoming Olympics Video Game.
Four of them weren't available in the initial Japanese release for the title and instead added in later updates, so we could get more events added as future DLC.
All of the following sports or events are confirmed for the game so far:
- 4 x 100M Relay
- 110M Hurdles
- Sport Climbing
- Long Jump
- Hammer Throw
- 200M Individual Medley
- Table Tennis
- Football (Soccer)
- 100M Freestyle
- Beach Volleyball
- Rugby Sevens
It will be interesting to see how some of the larger sports included, such as baseball and basketball, compare in this title to their own major franchises like MLB The Show 21 or the upcoming NBA 2K22.
Players will be able to compare gameplay in-game for football (soccer) to titles like FIFA 21 (soon to be FIFA 22) but will have less of a baseline for things like long jump or swimming.
