New World Population: How many players are playing Amazon's new MMO?

Now two weeks past launch, the New World population data is showing a healthy player count that could mean longevity for Amazon's first MMO game.

But with launch hype behind us, how many players are jumping into New World?

New World Population Size

New World arrived to a massive audience on launch day, and while the player count isn't quite as high now two weeks in - the game offers serious competition to other major MMOs.

According to data collected from New World Status as well as Steam population counts - New World currently boasts an average of roughly 500,000 concurrent users a day across all servers.

The record concurrent users peak for New World was over 913,000 players, reached in early October.

How does the New World player count compare to other MMOs?

This number puts New World in the upper echelon of modern MMOs - in competition with World of Warcraft's estimated 3-4 million active players, and FFXIV's estimated 3 million active players.

With massive streamers trying out New World, and many sticking to it weeks since launch, the game has generated a ton of excitement. With massive streamers come massively overpopulated servers with viewers looking to play alongside their favorite content creators.

As a result, there are some New World servers that are simply not worth the hassle when it comes to queue times. These servers reached records of 5 figure queues, and some are still out of control to this day.

Around these massive outliers, however, New World servers and queue times have by and large improved with more players spreading out to other server options.

As long as you avoid peak times, you should be able to get into most New World servers without a significant queue, unlike the massive rush at launch.
