Does New World Open Beta progress carry over?

New World, Amazon Games Studio's latest MMORPG, is almost here. With a brand new open beta out there and the launch later this month, there are some unanswered questions. Here's whether open beta progress carries over to the full release.

When Does the New World Open Beta End?

The New World open beta ends on September 12th, mere days from now. This Open Beta only lasts for a few days, likely to stress test the servers before the official launch later this month.

You can get in there right now but you only have a few days left to play it.

Does Progress carry over?

On the Official New World page, they clear up this question saying:

WILL MY OPEN BETA PROGRESS BE CARRIED OVER TO LAUNCH?
No, there will be a progress wipe between Open Beta and launch.

Unfortunately, your progress won't be carried over. There is a downside and upside to this decision though. Although you won't get to keep all your work, it does mean that all the players getting in there won't feel overpowered. The experience of hundreds of thousands of players piling in, all around the same level, is pretty great for an MMO

When Does New World release?

New World officially launches on September 28th this year. After months of build-up, Amazon Games Studio's latest game is almost here. Set in a brave new world, you have to pick up blades, staffs and guns to take on a brand new threat.

As of right now, there are a few main editions you can pick up. The standard edition gives you access to the game, alongside a new amulet, unique title, emote and Guild crest set.

The Steelbook edition is a little more expensive and comes with a physical case, alongside a map and a bunch of other content that you can check out right here.

Finally, the deluxe edition is a digital set that comes with a unique armor, skin, pet, emote and digital art book. You can pick up any of the three editions ahead of launch later this month.
