Multiversus Season 1: Release Date, Battle Pass, & More

With its Open Beta now fully underway, players and fighting game fans are greatly anticipating the upcoming release of Multiversus Season 1.

With a brand new battle pass and more fighters set to be introduced to the game, here is everything we know about Multiversus Season 1.

LATEST - Multiversus Season 1 Roadmap Revealed

Multiversus made its presence knozwn across the weekend, appearing at Evo 2022 to announce its upcoming Season 1 Roadmap, giving players a look at what the season will bring upon its eventual release.

As expected, the characters of Rick and Morty will be arriving during the season along with a new batch of cosmetics but it also confirmed two new modes for fans to enjoy. A Classic Arcade Mode and a Ranked Mode for competitive play.

What is the Multiversus Season 1 Release Date?

Despite originally being scheduled for a release on Monday, 8th August 2022, Multiversus Season 1 has been delayed as the team at Player first Games adds more content to the game.

The new release date for Multiversus is Monday, 15th August 2022, introducing a brand new battle place for gamers to enjoy also with a variety of new content spread throughout the season.

Multiversus Season 1 Battle Pass

The news of the delay also affected the new battle pass, with very little known about the upcoming cosmetic unlocks and rewards that will be available upon its release. What we do know, is its cost and how big it will be thanks to Multiversus director Tony Huynh responding to a tweet from a fan asking about the cost.

According to Huynh, the Multiversus Season 1 battle pass will cost 950 Gleamium and will have 50 tiers. For reference, the pre-season battle pass costs 350 Gleamium but only provides 15 tiers.

Players can purchase 1,000 Gleamium for approximately $9.99 / £7.99 so the cost of the battle pass will be approximately that. There is also a free version of the battle pass available to all players but this will feature fewer in-game rewards.

Battle pass rewards will include emotes, alternate outfits, ring-out effects and gold. It is unclear whether or not Gleamium will be featured as a reward.

Multiversus Season 1 Characters

As of writing, only two characters have been confirmed for Multiversus Season 1 with both Rick and Morty making their way into the game.

Morty is set to be the first of these two fighters added to the game, officially confirmed to be making his debut in Multiversus on Tuesday, 23rd August 2022.

Rick meanwhile doesn't have a fixed release date other than "during season 1" and after Morty though more info for that is expected to arrive soon.
