Mortal Kombat is a long standing arcade fighter, having made its debut in 1992.
Since then it has continued the over the top gory gameplay that the series is known for.
Mortal Kombat 1995 Movie
The 1990s began the trend of video game movie adaptations.
Granted, most of them were pretty rubbish, but a few good ones were made.
Over the years we have seen video games such as Super Mario, Street Fighter, Tomb Raider, and Resident Evil all get movie adaptations.
In 1995, a Mortal Kombat movie was released and it was surprisingly good.
While the movie won't be considered a masterpiece and put alongside Empire Strikes Back, it was an enjoyable film that tried to stay true to the source material.
After the 1995 movie there was a sequel "Mortal Kombat Annihilation" which wasn't as well received by both fans and critics.
A third movie was ultimately cancelled, but 20 years later a new Mortal Kombat movie has been made.
The film was scheduled to release in January 2021 but has been pushed back until theatres can reopen as normal.
Mortal Kombat 11
In April 2019, the latest entry in the Mortal Kombat series was released.
Mortal Kombat 11s story continues on from the previous Mortal Kombat X.
Overall it is a really fun experience and there are some great features that make it a worthwhile purchase.
1995 Movie Skins DLC
New DLC has been released for Mortal Kombat 11 giving players access the the 1995 movie appearances for characters.
The characters are Raiden, Johnny Cage, and Sonya Blade.
Their appearances are faithful to the movie and it will be interesting to see whether more are done in the future.

MK11 Ultimate Edition
Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate Edition acts much like a Game Of The Year edition, giving players access to these game and DLC all in one package.
Included in the Ultimate Edition is the base game, Kharacter Packs 1 & 2, and the Aftermath Expansion.
This gives players access to both stories in the game and all 37 playable fighters, including Scorpion, Sub Zero, Raiden, Mileena, Rain, Shang Tsung, The Terminator, Rambo, and The Joker.
Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate Edition will also give players a free upgrade to the next generation version.
For example, if players purchase the PS4 version and later get a PS5 then they can upgrade their copy to the PS5 version without having to pay for the game again.
