The original Monster Hunter Stories was a big surprise when it released almost five years ago. Switching up the gameplay formula to a more traditional RPG approach, it granted fans the opportunity to see their favourite monsters in a brand new light.

Now, years later, we see a brand new sequel promising so much more to spend hundreds of hours on. If you're looking for all the most recent information coming up to its launch, here's everything you need to know about Monster Hunter Stories 2.

Monster Hunter Stories 2 Release

Announced in September 2020, the trailer showed a tribe, an elf, and a huge dragon. As a young adventurer, you are told of the disappearance of the Rathalos and what you can do to stop their cataclysm.

Riding the back of your very own dragon, you explore the lands, meeting new characters and uncovering why the Rathalos are dissapearing. It's a very heartfelt trailer with plenty of little bits to pick up on. Give it a watch yourself to find a little more.

Monster Hunter Stories 2 Release Time

You can finally play Monster Hunter Stories 2 for yourself on Friday, July 9th. This means from announcement to launch, the game look less than a year, a pretty nice timeframe

Many reviews have already poured in and you can expect to see ours sometime in the next few weeks.

On Steam, the game is set to go live at 9 pm pt / 5 am BST July 8th/9th. Steam tends to be a little more rigid and structured than Nintendo, which has some problems with launches.

Players on Switch may not be able to play their game until midday on the day of release. The Nintendo UK site suggests games will go live at 2 pm GMT.

According to the Monster Hunter Twitter, the game itself will require 13.5 GB of free space and the day one patch will be around 0.5 GB.
