Mobile Legends: Bang Bang brings MOBA gameplay mobile

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was developed by the Chinese company Montoon, and launched in July 2016, adventuring in the market of Mobile Games as the first Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA). This followed the steps of the revolutionary MOBAs DotA and LoL on PC.

After a rocky beginning, facing lawsuits against Tencent (owners of Riot) for the similarities of modes, character and map with League of Legends. A legal issue that cost Montoon 19.4 million yen and a change of name (from Mobile Legends, to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang). Since then, however, the game has caught plenty of steam as a leading mobile game today.

Here's everything you need to know about Mobile Legends: Bang Bang now approaching its 5th anniversary!

Roles

Mobile Legends, is a real time PvP game, where battles are fought across 3 lanes with two teams of 5 on each side of the map. The goal of the game is to reach the enemy base and destroy it while defending yours. The path to the opponent's team is defended with three lines of turrets and a constant streams of minions.

Each player can select a character with unique abilities from a pool of 106 heroes separated into 6 main roles. Tank, Assassin, Fighter, Marksman, Mage, and Support.

1. Tank

These heroes have higher Hit Points (HP) and are best for defense. Their main purpose is to absorb damage from the frontlines.

2. Assassin

The characters deliver tactical and lethal strikes on their enemies. They have lower HP but they have the highest burst damage output.

3. Fighter

These heroes are built more for speed and close combat. They are usually provided with crowd control and counter-attacks abilities.

4. Mage

These types are skill-based hitters that cause damage and spread effects to nearby enemies and buffs teammates, low in defense and durability. They offer the team winning advantages in team battles.

5. Marksman

Marksmen are distance hitters that use physical damage. They have faster attacks so they are perfect for the destruction of turrets and sustained damage.

6. Support

These hero types aid and protect their less durable teammates like the Mage and Marksman. They are specialist in roaming the map.
