The 2018 Lunar Revel has brought plenty of speculation and hope trying to figure out which three champions Riot were granting a skin to in the Year of the Dog. After a teaser trailer, much deliberation, and plenty of guesses, Riot has finally given us the answers.

Let’s take a look at the lucky three.

Lunar Guardian Warwick

The Blood Hunter has a range of interesting skins as quite an old champion on the Rift, and fans can rejoice knowing they have another on the way.

Warwick was one of the most popular guesses in response to the Lunar Revel teaser trailer, and the forum speculators didn’t disappoint, the speedy wolfman made the cut.

To deal with the upswing of Warwick’s, our advice would be if he’s coming from your opponent’s jungle, when in doubt, base. He smells weakness, and your lack of summoners. Don’t test it.

Lunar Guardian Nasus

2018 is the Year of the Dog. If Riot didn’t throw us this bone, a Nasus skin, on such an occasion, we would’ve chased our tails and howled.

The Q-farming death machine can now teleport between you and your turret in an all new getup, but if he gets too close you probably won’t be able to see it very long. While Nasus has a slew of interesting skin choices to work with, you can thank the Chinese calendar that he will be receiving another.

To deal with all of the extra Nasus’ in the coming weeks, be sure to beat up on him as an opposing jungler or top laner. Once the cane gets going, it rarely stops.

Lunar Guardian Lux

In the biggest shock of the Lunar Revel announcements, Lux has taken the final slot, following up on the sun hint in Riot’s teaser trailer.

While many speculated at Aurelian Sol being the final of the Lunar Revel trio, Lux has stolen the slot right out from under The Star Forger. On top of being a worse answer to the riddle Riot proposed, Lux sits on seven skins since her early release. Aurelian Sol still has only one.

But beyond sour grapes, Lux’s Lunar Revel skin looks to be quite interesting, and may be the best of the set.

To deal with all of the Lux’s you see in the coming weeks, be sure to watch whether you’re in ultimate range if you’re low health, regardless of where you are on the map. To really beat down the Lady of Luminosity, it’s less about what you do and more about what you don’t get hit by. Stay mobile, stay unpredictable, and stay out of combo kill range as best you can.

To the Rift!

While we can’t quite forgive Riot for the swerve Lunar Revel has brought, we can forget it in the flashy new effects we’ve been given. But we won’t be happy about it Riot (now take our money.)
