Week five was a mixed bag for both Team ROCCAT and Unicorns of Love, both taking home one win and one loss each. Although ROCCAT are doing considerably better than UOL in the standings, with ROCCAT sitting at joint fourth going into week six whilst UOL are last, UOL consistently prove that they can’t be counted out of games so easily.

Although ROCCAT beat UOL when they last met in week two of the 2018 EU LCS Spring Split, expect sparks to fly when they face each other again in this week six match-up.

ROCCAT want to climb

Team ROCCAT have been in the middle of the pack for some time, and week five’s games didn’t help their bid to climb further on the leader board.

During their first game of week five against H2k, it was a back-and-forth affair. However, ROCCAT looked to have the edge when at 23:26 Norskeren blocked Shook from jumping into the Baron pit, which allowed ROCCAT to slay the Baron and take the buff. However, H2k took the lead in team fights, and they quickly shut down any advantage ROCCAT had gained, ending the game with 17 kills to ROCCAT’s ten.

ROCCAT picked themselves up for their second game of week five against FC Schalke 04. It was a slow game to start, with ROCCAT having just three kills to Schalke’s one at 29 minutes. However, the pace ramped up and ROCCAT’s Blanc on Corki helped ROCCAT secure victory, with a kill participation of 81.8% and a KDA of 6/2/3.

ROCCAT will undoubtedly look to take home the win when they face UOL in week six, however don’t expect UOL to go down without a fight.

Unicorns want redemption

Unicorns of Love have had one of the worst performances in the history of the EU LCS. With only two wins to their name after week five, many people have written them off entirely.

Although it’s highly unlikely UOL will climb much higher up the leader board, they have been putting in some consistently good performances, even if they struggle to convert those plays into wins.

One of their best performances to date came when UOL faced Giants Gaming in their second game of week five. First blood came at five minutes into the game when Exileh took out Djoko during a team fight, which resulted in UOL walking away with three kills to Giant’s one. From then on Exileh and Samux continued to snowball, and both finished the game with huge KDAs of 9/1/9. Both carries were so fed it allowed UOL to devastate Giants in a relatively speedy 33:29 minute long game and secure their second win of the Spring Split.

If UOL can replicate that performance when they face ROCCAT, expect a very close game.

ROCCAT will play Unicorns of Love on Saturday 24th February and they are scheduled as the first game of the evening. Coverage will start from 5pm CET and you can watch the action as it unfolds on the LoL Esports YouTube channel.
