Age of Empires 4 is out now and offers yet another incredible real-time strategy experience. Alongside the usual game modes is a brand new story campaign that brings historically accurate gameplay which at times feels more educational than anything else.

How many Campaigns are in Age of Empires 4?

There are four total campaigns in Age of Empires 4. Each one follows a different civilization at a different time in their history. The four campaigns are;

• The Normans
• The Hundred Years War
• The Mongol Empire
• The Rise of Moscow

Each one takes place within a set timeline and takes you through various battles and scenarios that match up with re-life events. Some missions will take on a Total War-style of gameplay as you simply control an army against and single enemy on a restricted battlefield.

Others take on more of a classic Age of Empires structure as you manage resources, unit production and defend your town while attacking set points on a map. Each mission is set out wonderfully and the narration throughout acts as both an education and direction of what you should be doing next.
