Ghost Recon Breakpoint: 7 Things To Try During the Free Weekend

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is the most recent installment in the long-running Ghost Recon franchise.

Though it first debuted in 2019, there are still some players who have yet to try out the tactical shooter, which takes place in an open world environment.

Now, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is free for the weekend, just in time for its Rainbow Six Siege crossover event, Operation Amber Sky.

Here are our suggestions for 7 things you should try during the free weekend.

1. Play 9 new missions in Operation Amber Sky

The new Rainbow Six Siege crossover event includes 9 new missions.

The Ghosts and Rainbow squads are deployed to investigate a new gas that Sentinel is manufacturing.

The missions introduce gas-filled areas you must use a gas mask to traverse, while remembering to change out filters.

Whether this is your first time in Breakpoint or your tenth, this adds a new element of survival to the game that you'll want to experience.

2. Try out three Rainbow Six Siege operatives

If you're coming over to Ghost Recon Breakpoint from Rainbow Six Siege, you'll be familiar with the three operatives from Siege available in Operation Amber Sky.

Ash, Thatcher, and Finka will be joining Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and you can start deploying them in Breakpoint after completing the first Operation Amber Sky mission.

You can utilize them even after the crossover event has ended, and if you decide to purchase Breakpoint, you'll be able to keep them in your AI squad.

3. Try Exploration mode for a more challenging experience

Turn on Exploration Mode via the Settings menu to be forced to rely on your investigation and observation skills to find out where you need to go next.

Breakpoint is a great game to test this in, as there's plenty of areas to travel to and uncover secrets.

4. Seek out Bivouacs for fast-travel points

These areas mark Bivouacs, and they're meant to offer points that you can use to fast-travel from one place to another.

Fly low to unlock these areas so you have a head start on efficient travel.
