Ghost Recon Breakpoint is the most recent installment in the long-running Ghost Recon franchise.
Though it first debuted in 2019, there are still some players who have yet to try out the tactical shooter, which takes place in an open world environment.
Here are our suggestions for 7 things you should try during the free weekend.
1. Play 9 new missions in Operation Amber Sky
The new Rainbow Six Siege crossover event includes 9 new missions.
The Ghosts and Rainbow squads are deployed to investigate a new gas that Sentinel is manufacturing.
The missions introduce gas-filled areas you must use a gas mask to traverse, while remembering to change out filters.
Whether this is your first time in Breakpoint or your tenth, this adds a new element of survival to the game that you'll want to experience.
2. Try out three Rainbow Six Siege operatives
If you're coming over to Ghost Recon Breakpoint from Rainbow Six Siege, you'll be familiar with the three operatives from Siege available in Operation Amber Sky.
Ash, Thatcher, and Finka will be joining Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and you can start deploying them in Breakpoint after completing the first Operation Amber Sky mission.
You can utilize them even after the crossover event has ended, and if you decide to purchase Breakpoint, you'll be able to keep them in your AI squad.
3. Try Exploration mode for a more challenging experience
If you want a challenge, you can turn on a special mode that turns off quest objectives and other map markers.
Turn on Exploration Mode via the Settings menu to be forced to rely on your investigation and observation skills to find out where you need to go next.
Breakpoint is a great game to test this in, as there's plenty of areas to travel to and uncover secrets.
4. Seek out Bivouacs for fast-travel points
As you're getting acclimated to Breakpoint, you'll soon learn it can take time to get from one place to another.
Hop into a chopper and survey the ground below while looking for areas that have smoke floating up into the sky.
These areas mark Bivouacs, and they're meant to offer points that you can use to fast-travel from one place to another.
Fly low to unlock these areas so you have a head start on efficient travel.
5. Try out new classes
There are several classes you can test in Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
Don't worry about being attached to one, as you can simply try out another if you don't like the first one.
Go into a Bivouac fast travel point, choose Tactics, and switch to another class you've unlocked to try that out instead.
6. Test new looks with Skin Override
Ghost Recon Breakpoint has plenty of different customization options, but sometimes the way your equipment looks can be unsatisfying.
Opt to use the Skin Override feature, which lets you change up your character so they look more like what you have in mind for them.
This option is available in the Customize tab, and lets you change your character's equipment colors skin tone, face, and more.
7. Try Breakpoint on Stadia
Ghost Recon Breakpoint is available for free across all platforms, but you might want to check it out on Stadia.
Stadia has been offering a wide variety of options lately that act as reliable alternatives to PC or console.
If you're interested in trying Stadia and seeing whether it fits your needs, now is a great time to jump in with Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
