Gfinity Elite Series: Street Fighter V winners and losers


Now into its third season at the Gfinity Elite Series, there’s no messing around with Street Fighter V. Nordavind were crowned champions after finding some serious form in the back end of the competition, as their trio of Phenom, Momi and Saltykid blew Fnatic away in the final.

RealSport looks at the biggest success stories of the competition, but also those who had disappointing campaigns at the Gfinity Arena in London.

Of course, Nordavind were victorious in Season 3, but who else impressed the crowds and improved their stock during the Elite Series?

The star of the Elite Series. Phenom won all 10 of his matches during the tournament, and he was the spearhead of Nordavind’s push for the title. The Norwegian could not be stopped, and he is now regarded as one of the best Street Fighter players in the world.

Phenom’s three-match win in a 4-3 victory over Envy in the group stage got Nordavind back on track, but the individual highlight has to be his annihilation of Epsilon’s Takamura to put his side into the quarterfinals with a perfect KO.
