Saber Interactive's Evil Dead: The Game has finally arrived, letting players experience the wacky horrors of Sam Raimi's cult classic franchise like never before by letting them work with or against their players in an asymmetric multiplayer experience starring their favourite Evil Dead characters.

Series protagonist Ash Williams makes up a lot of the character select screen for Evil Dead: The Game with actor Bruce Campell returning to the role but the version of him found in Ash Vs Evil Dead needs to be unlocked. How? Here's what you need to know.

How to Unlock Ash Williams (Ash Vs Evil Dead) in Evil Dead: The Game

Evil Dead: The Game is primarily a multiplayer experience but it can also be played solo with a single-player version of the multiplayer as well as a series of solo missions.

These missions see the player controlling one of the game's playable characters and completing a series of story objectives ranging from collecting items to slaying waves of deadites.

It's the first of these missions, titled "If You Love Someone Set Them Free... With a Chainsaw" that needs to be completed to unlock the playable character of Ash Williams (Ash vs Evil Dead).

When it comes to all of the missions in Evil Dead: The Game, ensuring you're well stocked up is vital. There are no checkpoints in any of the missions so if you get caught out and die, you'll need to start from square one.

For this mission in particular, always try to avoid the direct objective and search the area around it for any resources, especially inside buildings where weapons and ammo will spawn. Areas without a nearby objective or trap don't tend to have items spawned in from experience so you're better off just avoiding exploring everything.

Due to this lack of resources, however, you should try to reserve your ranged ammo for when you encounter the larger enemies that deal more damage and take hits better. Do this and you'll be able to beat the mission and unlock Ash Williams (Ash vs Evil Dead) in no time alongside the next mission and a bonus audio file that can be found in the extras menu.
