Elden Ring Delayed & Closed Network Test Announced

Today, FromSoftware has announced that Elden Ring has been delayed by about a month, and a closed network test has also been revealed,

Elden Ring Delayed

In a short statement on Twitter, the Elden Ring team said:

Elden Ring will release on Feb 25, 2022, as the depth & strategic freedom of the game exceeded initial expectations. Thank you for your trust & patience. We look forward to seeing you experience the game in the Closed Network Test in Nov.

The game was initially scheduled to release on January 21, so it has been delayed by just over a month.


Elden Ring Closed Network Test

Beginning on November 12, there will also be an Elden Ring Closed Network Test for fans to take part in.

According to the description in this trailer, anyone who registers interested on the Elden Ring site will get access from November 12.

Here's when the closed network test will be running:

  • November 12: 12:00 to 15:00 CET
  • November 13: 4:00 to 7:00 CET
  • November 13: 20:00 to 23:00 CET
  • November 14: 12:00 to 15:00 CET
  • November 15: 4:00 to 7:00 CET

You can also pre order Elden Ring here, in anticipation of the new release date.

You just have a little longer to wait to play it than you did a few hours ago. Hopefully the closed network test will make it up to you.

Following this delay, February 2022 is now a crazily busy month for game releases. Provided there aren't any other delays before then, below is a list of what you can expect to be playing:

  • Feb 22: Destiny 2 The Witch Queen
  • Feb 22: The King of Fighters XV
  • Feb 22: SIFU
  • Feb 25: Saints Row
  • Feb 25: Elden Ring

That's on top of what's shaping up to be a busy March too.
