Dying Light 2 is one of the most eagerly anticipated open-world games currently in development.
Originally slated to launch in early 2020, Dying Light 2 missed its release window and was delayed.
Dying Light 2 has reportedly had a rocky development cycle and several setbacks, including dropping its lead writer, Chris Avellone, after allegations of sexual assault (as reported by Gamasutra).
Developer Techland recently showed off a massive amount of new gameplay in a live stream, and at long last, gave us a solid release date.
When Is Dying Light 2's Release Date?
Techland has announced that Dying Light 2 will launch on December 7, 2021.
Judging by the footage shown during the live stream, this looks like an achievable release date, and while a further delay is still possible, it seems reasonably safe to say that we can begin to get hyped!
Preorders are now live, which is another positive sign for the game hitting its release date.
Preorder Bonuses and Editions
Preordering any version of Dying Light 2 will earn you the Reload Pack, which comes with a weapon, paraglider skin and outfit to use in-game.
There is a Standard Edition of the game, which goes for $60 USD.
The Deluxe Edition will set you back $80, and includes the Legendary Skin pack, exclusive weapon charms, wallpapers, digital comic, digital soundtrack and digital artwork.
You will also get access to the first piece post-launch story DLC. Physical preorders will also receive a steelbook case (although physical preorders aren't live yet).
Finally, the Ultimate Edition will run you $100, give you access to everything the Deluxe Edition does, and in addition, access to the second piece of post-launch story DLC.
Plus, you will get access to additional crafting items, more wallpapers, and a 2h night XP boost.
With Dying Light 2 set launch December 7, you have plenty of time to decide which edition best suits your needs.
