Blizzard has officially revealed yet ANOTHER delay for Overwatch 2, and this time including delays for Diablo 4 as well.

This news comes just weeks after the cancellation of BlizzCon 2022 - where these games would've likely been showcased if they were on schedule.

Here's everything you need to know about Blizzard's new round of delays and what they mean for the future of the company and some of its most popular series.

This time though the delays aren't just for Overwatch 2, which at this rate may never actually release, but instead also includes Diablo 4.

The Future of Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 has been dragged through mud since its inception, and that doesn't look like it'll be slowing down any time soon.

The game has been delayed repeatedly since its first trailers in 2019 - and being pushed further back in 2022 still may not be the light at the end of the tunnel.

At this point in time, it's hard for players to feel confident in the future of the Overwatch series, especially its competitive scene, with the company continuing to fumble the title at every opportunity.

While current plans seem to set the Overwatch 2 release date in late 2022, it's hard to have any expectations this will stay true. In the meantime, players will have to continue with the original Overwatch for the foreseeable future.

The Future of Diablo 4

The Diablo series is coming off some nice momentum thanks to the remastered release of Diablo 2. While the game has struggled with server issues among other problems since its launch, Diablo 2 Remastered has still captured its audience and offers that classic nostalgic experience players were seeking.

This momentum seems to have come to a screeching halt, however, thanks to new Diablo 4 delays just announced by Activision-Blizzard.

The company's statement points to the addition of post-launch content and further improvements as the reasoning behind delays, and while we don't doubt the games will come out better for the extra time, it still may not be enough to satisfy players.

The statement didn't give a firm release date window for Diablo 4 or Overwatch 2, and its wording is ambiguous enough to allow a late 2022 or a 2023 release date for both games.
