Is Death Stranding stumbling onto PS5 consoles?

Kojima Production's Death Stranding could be looking at a PS5 release if insiders are to be believed.

There have been rumours of Death Stranding Extended Edition for a little while now and it seems like we might soon be finding out if there is any truth behind them.

Below, we have everything you need to know about Death Stranding on PS5 and what the Extended Edition could mean.

Death Stranding On PS5

Back in January, a reputable ResetEra insider seemed to confirm that Death Stranding Extended Edition is-indeed a real thing and is due to release on both the PS4 and PS5.

Although they haven't confirmed any of the details, they offered ResetEra readers this bit of sound advice:

" If you're interested in Death Stranding but haven't played it yet, it might be worth it to wait a lil bit."

Annoyingly, this is about as far as we've got in terms of information about what this means for existing Death Stranding owners and a release date for this upgraded version of the game.

When asked about a release date, Navtra, the same leaker, said that the PS4 and PS5 versions of Death Stranding Extended Edition had been ready for a while now.

However, they're not expecting a release date just yet. "I'd give it one more month, maybe" is what they have said.

Extended Edition

Although there's no idea what could be included in an Extended Edition of Death Stranding, we do know that the PS5 release would most likely see a number of key performance and visual improvements.

4K visuals, solid frame rates, faster loading times and better textures all seem likely with a PS5 release of Death Stranding.

In terms of actual content though, there's no telling what Hideo Kojima might have hidden up his sleeve. It's unlikely that anything major was cut as Kojima has full creative control over the title, however, there are always things that get left on the cutting room floor.
