Hood: Outlaws and Legends is out in just under a week so you may be wondering "Can I play Hood: Outlaws and Legends crossplay?"
Crossplay adds a lot to the way you see a game. The more friends you have to play with, the better the experience is. Needless to say, we're excited for it.
This being said, there are some barriers to use when crossplay is involved. Those playing shooters like Apex Legends or Call of Duty on PC may have a slight edge over a Switch user. Luckily for the competition, Hood: Outlaws and Legends is a third-person game and it's not coming to any Nintendo device.
Can You Play Hood: Outlaws & Legends Crossplay?
As confirmed on Reddit by a Focus Home Interactive employee, Hood: Outlaws and Legends will have a crossplay function.
Unfortunately, it's not entirely clear to what extent that is the case. We can likely take for granted that console players can play together and PC may be included in that but Epic to Steam may not be.
As this is a live service game, there will likely be a multitude of changes over the coming year. If you want something implemented, it's worth having your voice heard through a thread or tweet. Maybe the same could be said for a single player mode.
What Does Crossplay Mean for Hood: Outlaws & Legends?
The game will go live for those who preorder on the 7th, three days before the official release on the 10th. This will give players time to adjust and also allow Sumo Digital to stress test the servers.
If all goes well, crossplay should go into full swing in the future. It's not sure how this will work but it will likely involve an invite system for friends and in-game usernames.
This being said, on Reddit, it was confirmed you can opt-out of crossplay matchmaking, a nice choice to have. If you find yourself getting beat, it's always fun to blame it on crossplay!
