It's an exciting mix of nostalgia and modern Battlefield, and we've got everything you need to know about it below.
What Is Battlefield Portal?
Battlefield Portal is a lot more than old maps being added to Battlefield 2042. It is a platforms of its own where you can experiment with the rules in ways you couldn't in the traditional modes.
As EA write, "take on custom-made modes or create your own unique experience using powerful builder tools. Imagine the assault rifles and helis of Battlefield 2042 on the Battlefield 1942 map Battle of the Bulge. Or perhaps a knife vs. defib fight on Caspian Border?"
Essentially, it's all of the new features of Battlefield 2042, including the modern gameplay and visuals, brought to the series' most popular maps, all while providing players with the freedom to change the modes into a sandbox however they please.
Therefore, you'll be able to play the sandbox mode from October 22, 2021. If anything changes, we'll update you.
During the EA Play Live show, a trailer for Battlefield Portal was played, showcasing the new look classic maps and even a large scale knives vs. defibrillators battle.
