How to Download & Install Battlefield 2042 Beta

After the delay a few weeks ago, the Battlefield 2042 open beta finally begins this week, but downloading the beta to jump in and test it out isn't that simple. We've got all the details you need on how to do so.

How to Get Access

First things first, it's worth noting that not everyone gets access to the Battlefield 2042 beta right away.

From 3pm ET/8pm BST on October 6, anyone who's a Xbox Game Pass or EA Play, or pre ordered the full Battlefield 2042 game, will get access to the early period.

Then, everyone who wants to play, whether you've pre ordered or not, will get access to the Battlefield 2042 beta from the same time on October 8.

All that being said, you can actually preload the beta now, whether you'll have early access or not.

How to Download & Install the Battlefield 2042 Beta

Now that you know when you can actually play it, you'll need to go about downloading and installing the Battlefield 2042 beta.

The easiest way to do so is to head to the store on your platform of choice and search for Battlefield 2042.

There, alongside the main game, you'll see the open beta and will be able to download it. You won't be able to open and play it yet, but you'll be able to download it to your system.

Since the Battlefield 2042 beta isn't being shown off on the main pages of the PlayStation Store - at least not yet - searching for it is your best option if you want to preload it before the test period goes live.

Open Beta File Size

Thankfully, it doesn't seem like you need as much storage space for Battlefield 2042's beta as you likely will do for the full game.

On PS5, the game's download size comes in at just 16.54GB. That may change as updates are released, but that's all it is for now.
