Battlefield 2042 isn't far out now, and the beta will give us our first real look at the massive shooter this year!

As the name implies, Battlefield 2042 is set in the near future, which is a nice change of pace from the previous two games hitting both World Wars.

LATEST - Battlefield 2042 Beta Release Date Leaks

Developer EA DICE has announced a Beta ahead of the games full launch, as is common practice ahead of such a big game.

We now finally have an idea of when the Battlefield 2042 Beta release date might land thanks to new leaks, which point to the beta kicking off on September 22nd!

Battlefield 2042 Release Date

Battlefield 2042 is set to launch on October 22nd.

Battlefield 2042 will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and via PC Steam, Origin, and the Epic Games store.

How to Get Open Beta Access

There will be an Open Beta held for Battlefield 2042 at the end of the month according to recent leaks, and tons of interested players will be flocking to get in.


Players who pre-order Battlefield 2042 will receive early access to the Open Beta before it goes live - but as of yet, we don't know of any other methods to get an invite.


The Battlefield 2042 Open Beta will offer a sneak peek at the features available in the full release.

Revamped versions of both Conquest and Breakthrough will be available to play.


The player count in a match has been increased from 64 in previous games to 128 in Battlefield 2042.

Some maps will change mid-match in response to certain factors, examples given were sandstorms and hurricanes on certain maps.

The Class system has been given an overhaul and will be replaced with the Specialist system, allowing players to create more dynamic and flexible squads.

A variety of new equipment will be available to try out, from a grappling hook for mobility to a syrette pistol that allows revival of downed teammates from a distance.
