How to Unlock Characters in Back 4 Blood

Back 4 Blood is finally out but it hasn't taken long for people to notice something strange about the Cleaners. When you first begin the game, only four will be unlocked; Walker, Mom, Holly and Evalngelo.

Thanks to how brilliantly these characters are written and performed, it's not necessarily a bad thing that only four are available, to begin with. We do, however, want to make sure we have a chance to try out every Cleaner for their unique skills and perks!

Fortunately, unlocking the other four Cleaners is a simple task that many may accomplish without giving it a second thought. Here's how to unlock all of the Cleaners in Back 4 Blood.

How to Unlock Hoffman, Doc, Karlee and Jim

In order to unlock the second half of the Cleaners in Back 4 Blood, you'll need to progress past the first half of Act I. This consists of four levels; Resurgence, Tunnel of Blood, Pain Train and The Crossing.

These four missions make up Act I, Part I if you will as the entire act is around thirteen levels long. This is broken up into 4 stages within the Act.

It does appear that you can NOT unlock all of the Cleaners while playing a Solo Campaign. This means you must enter a public game and reach the end of The Crossing level to unlock the remaining Cleaners.

Who Plays The Cleaners?

The cast selected to play the Cleaners in Back 4 Blood has been very carefully curated. It's lead by Horror icon Barbara Crampton who takes on the role of Mom.

The other cleaners are all played by well-experienced voice actors who know exactly how to give the perfect performance for their character. It would have been easy for Turtle Rock to pay little attention to this but the game is much better off for their attention to detail and strong character building.
