CROSSPLAY - Is Aliens Fireteam Elite getting it?

Sadly, it doesn't look like Aliens Fireteam Elite is getting crossplay features anytime soon. Gamespot spoke to a few developers earlier and Aliens Fireteam Elite's matchmaking features were discussed.

Zinkievich, CEO of Cold Iron Studios - the team behind Aliens Fireteam Elite - told Gamespot...

"... there is currently no plan for cross-play at this time."

For a game specifically designed for cooperative gameplay, this is disappointing. It wasn't ruled out completely, but it certainly doesn't sound like it's on the cards anytime soon. It'll be cross-generational though, so you'll be able to play with your PS4 friends if you're on a PS5.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a co-op horde shooter but can be played in single-player with AI teammates. Developer Cold Iron Studios has also committed to making and major updates for the game FREE including a 4K/60fps patch and future season updates.

The game plays a lot like Back 4 Blood but in space, with Xenomorphs. That isn't a knock on either game. In fact, while each title has a similar gameplay style, they're incredibly unique in how they handle their overall game design.
