AEW Fight Forever finishers and new gameplay footage revealed at Tokyo Game Show

AEW Fight Forever continues to draw more interest as the buildup to a potential launch rolls on.

With the title showcased at the Tokyo Game Show, we've new footage of AEW Fight Forever screens and finishers that have been revealed for the first time.

While the official reveals have continued to be scarce, news about AEW Fight Forever has picked up with their convention showcases.

Things started with Gamescom 2022 featuring some exciting matches and a booth with a playable demo, and we've got more here on our own experience there playing AEW Fight Forever.

However, the latest appearance has been at the Tokyo Game Show, and a series of new details about the game have been revealed.

Most of what we've seen so far has come via Twitter user @MonsterBrunch who is attending the show, and the images below from their account show the character selection screen with the game's start screen also glimpsed in the bottom left.

Based on the characters highlighted in these images and other videos, it looks like the build showcased at Tokyo Game Show is likely the same one seen at Gamescom 2022.

The playable roster for that demo included Adam Cole, Kenny Omega, CM Punk, Paul Wight, Thunder Rosa, and Hikaru Shida, all of which we've now got new gameplay footage of.

Now on to that coveted new AEW Fight Forever gameplay footage, as finishers take center stage along with one finisher reversal.

The footage was initially shared by @MonsterBrunch in a series of posts featuring clips from the following matches: CM Punk vs. Kenny Omega, Paul Wight (Big Show) vs. CM Punk, Hikaru Shida vs. Thunder Rosa, and CM Punk vs. Adam Cole.

This includes footage of CM Punk hitting the Go 2 Sleep, Paul Wight nailing a chokeslam, Thunder Rosa delivering the Fire Thunder Driver, Adam Cole dropping The Boom, Hikaru Shida hitting the Katana, and Thunder Rosa reversing a Katana attempt.

Much like Gamescom 2022, all the feedback from those who've gotten to actually play AEW Fight Forever has been very positive.

In the posted videos, @MonsterBrunch also mentioned that playing as Paul Wight had a "good sense of weight and power," and that opponents could not lift him without a high spirit meter.

Unfortunately, the one piece of news THQ Nordic and AEW Games still refuse to provide even at these events is an official release date, but we expect AEW Fight Forever to arrive in the next few months.
