Minecraft is a game where resources mean everything. If you want to build something amazing or just a little hut, you can do that.
This being said, starting out with the right resources is the best way of getting far. If you want the best base experience (and don't feel like riding dragons, installing mods or going to the depths) a good seed should help you on that path. Here are five simple but good seeds for you to check out.
How Do You Activate Seeds?
If you've played Minecraft before, there's a good chance you know how to do this but, just in case you don't, here's how to activate a seed.
Boot up your game and go to the main menu. From here, go to play and create a new world. Go to the right-hand side and scroll down until you see an option called "Seed". Click on it, type in your seed and then click "Create World". You're in.
This spawns you right next to a nice jungle town on the side of a small cliff but, more importantly, it also drops you into a huge badlands biome.
This is one of the rarer biomes you can find in Minecraft and it's covered in terracotta. It also has a ton of caves. and some really strange formations just next to flatlands. This would be great for someone looking to make some unique bases.
This is a simple seed but it's a very nice start. As soon as you spawn, you will see the side of a town. That town reveals itself to be much larger than you might think with crops and livestock.
More importantly, it is covered in little caves, a great way to find resources. Build yourself a small base with a bed, pick a direction, and walk forward to drop into lots of resources.
This will spawn you in the middle of a taiga biome and village but, more importantly, the village is huge.
You will be greeted by two toolsmiths and a blacksmith, meaning there's a lot to loot. Going into the trees will show you some cool structures and head on over to 372, 67, 297 for a broken nether portal with two sets of enchanted gold boots and some various goodies. Finally, you also find a large ravine at 811, 69, 272, great for stocking up on resources to trade.
This one doesn't have a special town or structure but it has its own charm. The second you spawn in, your eyes will see tons of trees. That's what you're looking for.
This is a huge jungle biome filled with ocelots, cocoa beans, melons and a bunch more. This would be a great seed for a jungle base and there's enough to explore to keep you endlessly entertained.
The last seed on our list is an interesting one that could make for a great game with friends. With this, you are spawned beside a large abandoned village infested with zombies.
There is potential here with lots of buildings and loot, alongside grown crops, trapped pigs and horses and a few great caves nearby. This world is a fixer-upper but one of the best kinds, the type that grants you lots of nice lot.
And that's a handful of great seeds available in Minecraft update 1.17 and the best way to get resources outside of some well-placed mods.
