Madden 17 Ultimate Team: Football Outsiders Set Guide
Madden 17 Ultimate Team has lots of perks, one being its Sets and their trading card-esque feel. Here is a guide to just one of them: Football Outsiders
It is hard to believe that Madden has already been put for 2 months, it seems like a lot less. But you know what people say: “Time flies when you’re having fun.” Part of the reason Madden is so fun is its Ultimate Team mode.
Ultimate Team is a popular game mode on every single EA Sports game for various reasons. It feels like a trading card game, it mixes fantasy sports and gaming and it is a great head to head platform. One of my favourite aspects is its Sets.
The Sets in Madden enhance the trading card feel to the game and they can be done using excess and spare items as you go along, they aren’t even integral to the game, they are just a bonus way to get better items.
Over the last few weeks I’ve been breaking down every Set in MUT, and now it is time for the Football Outsiders Set.
The Football Outsiders Sets reward you with players highlighted by Football Outsiders for Outstanding Performances in each week of the NFL Season. There are currently 9 Sub-Sets:
- Week 8: Amari Cooper
Add the four Football Outsider Week 8 Players (Kirk Cousins, Andrus Peat, Adrian Clayborn, A. J. Bouye) and six Week 8 Collectibles to earn a 90 Overall Amari Cooper.
- Week 7: Jay Ajayi
Add the four Football Outsider Week 7 Players (Brandon Williams, Jordan Hicks, Jeremy Hill, Daniel Sorensen) and six Week 7 Collectibles to earn a 90 Overall Jay Ajayi.
- Week 6: Richie Incognito
Add the four Football Outsider Week 6 Players (Jermon Bushrod, Cole Beasley, Jason McCourty, Johnathan Hankins) and six Week 6 Collectibles to earn an 89 Overall Richie Incognito.
- Week 5: Zack Martin
Add the 4four Football Outsider Week 5 Players (Eric Kendricks, Jordan Howard, Lorenzo Alexander, Austin Pasztor) and six Week 5 Collectibles to earn an 89 Overall Zack Martin.
- Week 4: Cameron Heyward
Add the four Football Outsider Week 4 Players (Martellus Bennett, Clinton McDonald, Isaiah Crowell, Charles Leno Jr.) and six Week 4 Collectibles to earn an 88 Overall Cameron Heyward.
- Week 3: Travis Kelce
Add the four Football Outsider Week 3 Players (Marvin Jones Jr., Jason Kelce, Xavier Rhodes, Nick Perry) and six Week 3 Collectibles to earn an 89 Overall Travis Kelce.
- Week 2: Stefon Diggs
Add the four Football Outsider Week 2 Players (Jordan Berry, Jimmy Garoppolo, Jahleel Addae, James Bradberry) and six Week 2 Collectibles to earn an 88 Overall Stefon Diggs.
- Week 1: Matthew Stafford
Add the four Football Outsider Week 1 Players (Lavonte David, Willie Snead, Tony Jefferson, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif) and six Week 1 Collectibles to earn an 88 Overall Matthew Stafford.
- Sleeper: Thomas Rawls
Add the four Football Outsider Sleepers List players (Quandre Diggs, Chris Conley, Eli Harold, Daryl Williams) and six Sleepers List Collectibles to earn an 86 Overall Thomas Rawls.
All of the players and Collectibles can be found in Packs and they can also all be bought in the Auction house, but that isn’t an economical way to do it. The Week 8 Collectibles cost around 27,000 Coins and the Week 8 players cost between 1,500 Coins and 14,000 Coins at the time of writing (7th November) so it’s going to coast a lot to earn Amari Cooper. Annoyingly, though, this version of Amari Cooper is going to set you back as he’ll cost around 200,000 Coins.
This is not my favorite Set in the game as I have yet to get close to completing anyone of them despite playing the game a lot and getting a lot of packs. You can get players who are just as good as or better than these ones for less and more easily, for example the Legends Players or the Flashback Players.
However, if you get the chance the players you earn for this Set are very good, so they aren’t worthless.
That does it for this Set, what do you think about it? Let us know in the comments!
