Early Access of Madden 23 has players learning more about the game including some of the ball carrier controls like how to stiff arm.
We're going to show you how to perform a stiff arm on every console and through it, you'll learn the new mechanic to break tackles.
Let's get you ready to toss opponents to the ground in Madden 23.
How to Stiff Arm in Madden 23 (PS4 / PS5)
Performing a stiff arm in Madden 23 is pretty simple but it's all about timing. You don't want to use it too early and you don't want to use it too late.
To do it in Madden 23 on PS4 and PS5 (PlayStation systems), you'll press the X button which will trigger the animation. Check out the controls below.
It's also important to remember that there is more than just one way to break tackles in Madden 23 this year.
If you get jammed up, you can tap (X) to break the tackle, it will deplete the ball carrier's stamina, however, so keep that in mind.

Getting a good stiff arm off in Madden 23 is also going to depend on the player you're using. Their attributes determine how well it works.
Running backs such as Derrick Henry have a lot of strength and will shove opposing players off of him. He's a great addition to any MUT 23 lineup as well.
The difference on Xbox systems is that you'll press the "A" button to stiff arm, instead of pressing "X" as you do on PlayStation in Madden 23.
