Project L was revealed a while back, as the latest undertaking by Riot Games, to add to the League of Legends and Runeterra Universe. There's a ton of hype around the new game, and while we have no release date confirmed yet, that hasn't stoped fans from looking forward to it.

The new game will be a 2D fighter, designed to give fans a focus on the combat mechanics that can sometimes be lost in League of Legends. So, let's take a look at all the information we have for the game so far.

*UPDATED* Leaks Suggest Project L Roster

There have recently been some leaks that have hinted at the other champions coming to the game.

Release date

So far, there is no official release date for Project L. However, there are hints as to when the game may be released. Their 2021 games showcase in November announced that the game is far from done. They even said that 2022 is looking unlikely for release.

  • The name of Project L is still under development.
  • There is no confirmed release date even within the company.
  • The game was initially set for the end of 2021, but COVID delayed it.
  • Riot's focus is on appealing to fighter game fans instead of League of Legends fans.
  • Riot plans to hold huge tournaments to get pro-fighter game players involved.

There are other leaks within this post that are great references to how the game will turn out. However, as this post was two years ago, it's possible that a lot has changed since then. For now, gamers will have to wait until official information is out.
