Tier lists provide a quick and useful tool for anybody who is interested in learning a new role. Especially useful for the 160 champions in League of Legends.
This tier list has taken into consideration all of the nerfs and buffs from Riot to each champion recently as well as how often they are played... sorry Aurelion Sol.
S tier champions are very strong right now, with high win and play rates and E champions are less played and have a much lower win rate.
Mid-Lane tier list

Run-down of League of Legends mid champions
S tier
Champions like Viktor have had a boost since the durability update and with his sustainability increased, he is able to stay in the lane more to output that damage and farm.

Taliyah is an unlikely pick for Mid-Lane because she is considered the underdog of not only mid but jungle. Her mini rework has allowed her to become stronger with the AoE damage she puts out.
Late game is something that has been made stronger with this recent patch. Scaling is the focus here and Veigar has some brilliant abilities to support that. He's also just fun.
A tier
A tier Mid-Lane champs are still good to pick if the S tier has been banned. Swain would be considered an S-tier champion if only his ult and W hadn't been nerfed recently.

B tier
Fizz is another champion placed a little lower than where he could be. Always considered a nuisance in mid-lane this has recently become less of an issue due to his nerf. His health growth has decreased whilst his mana growth has increased.

F tier
Ryze's recent buff to his percentage AP sounds like he would be placed higher. But unfortunately, the changes made to him in Mid-Lane offered such little change that it doesn't make sense. Decreasing his mana cost seems like a good move from Riot but it wasn't decreased enough to make a big difference to the champion.
