Deep Silver, the creators of the popular game Prison Break, has just announced that their brand new IP Windbound will launch this year.

News of the indie game has only just been released on the PlayStation Blog, so you should head over the full game description.

The colourful survival adventure game will be available for purchase on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

What is it?

Created by Australian developer 5 Lives Studios, Windbound is a third-person survival adventure that places the player in the middle of a survival struggle.

A NEW DIRECTION: Windbound will take survival games in a whole new direction

Players will take on the role of Kara (a warrior caught adrift from her tribe at sea), who has been shipwrecked on an unknown forbidden island where she will be forced to adapt to survive.

Windbound takes the survival genre in a new direction, focusing on hunting, exploration and building custom boats in an immersive navigation experience.

It is up to Kara to solve the mysteries on the collection of forbidden islands and find a way back to safety.

Release Date

We already know that the game is coming to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

FINGERS CROSSED: With any luck, the COVID-19 pandemic won't affect this title too

However, it has just been revealed that Windbound will be coming to consoles on 28 August - as long as Coronavirus doesn't impact the development of the game as it has with so many other titles.
