It's safe to say that the Winter Contingency Event is a great addition to Halo Infinite for the holiday period. You can earn one "holiday-themed" item a day for ten days between now and December 30th - however, there's also going to be a chance to earn any ones you missed as the event itself is available until January 4th, 2022.

When does the Winter Event start in Halo Infinite?
At the moment, we don't have official confirmation of the Halo Infinite Winter Contingency Event - however, leakers and data miners have been hard at work revealing some key details about the upcoming seasonal event. One of these key details is when the event itself is due to start...
According to FireMonkey, a notable leaker you may have seen commenting on Fortnite's new content more regularly, the Halo Infinite Winter Contingency Event is going to start on December 21st, 2021, and it's due to run until January 3rd, 2022.
There's going to be two Weekly Challenges to complete - according to the leaker - which should get you some cosmetic rewards.
- Week One Challenge
- Eliminate 50 Enemy Spartans - Sacrifice Weapon Emblem
- Week Two Challenge
- Kill 15 Enemy Spartans by hitting them with a Vehicle in PvP - Splatter Nameplate Background
Free "Winter Giveaway" cosmetics leaked
It's worth taking the following with a pinch of salt, but it looks like Halo Infinite is going to introduce a free set of festive-themed rewards during the Winter Contingency Event in addition to the Weekly Challenges mentioned above.
This is going to be somewhat similar to the Fracture: Tenrai Event that popped up last month - however, it looks like you should be able to get your hands on the following rewards for playing one game a day.
There's going to be ten rewards in total, meaning you'll have to play at least one game of Halo Infinite a day for 10 out of the 14 days the Winter Contingency Event is available.
