Halo Infinite's single-player campaign is a triumphant return to form for the Halo series and - at long last - a certified hit for 343 Industries. It's brought back the Halo of old in the best way, but still adds a lot of new features to the gameplay. It's the perfect blend of old and new, really - and there are a lot of Grunts to kill!
If you're looking to kill Grunts with your friends, though, you might be wondering when you can tackle this Campaign in Co-Op mode. Sadly, we're still waiting for this feature to arrive in Halo Infinite. Here's everything we know and the latest updates from the development team...
We have to wait until May 2022 for this?!
We know this isn't the news you want to hear, but it looks like Co-Op Campaign features could be coming in Season 2 - which starts May 2022. This is a little ways away, but speaking to Eurogamer, 343 Industries has had the following to say...
"At the time that we talked about campaign co-op and Forge I said our goal is to ship campaign co-op in Season 2 and our goal is to ship Forge with Season 3," Staten said to Eurogamer.
"Yes, we are extending Season 1. So our goal still remains what I said before, which is to ship campaign co-op with Season 2 and Forge with Season 3. But those remain goals. Those remain targets. And we can't commit to any hard dates right now, because as we're seeing with this multiplayer beta, other things might move up in the priority stack for us.
Yeah, that's a long time...
You can glitch your way into the feature, though
Officially, Halo Infinite Co-Op Campaign is a little ways off - unofficially, it seems to be here already! If you're looking to glitch your way into a limited version of Galo Infinite's Co-Op Campaign, we have a step-by-step for you below.
Be warned, though. This is going to be a HUD-less mode without UNSC Forward Operating Bases and quite a few graphical glitches. It's clear that this isn't a feature we're getting any time soon.
Still, if you want to give it a go you need to do the following:
- Launch Halo Infinite in Offline Mode;
- Attach a second controller to your platform;
- Start the game with Player One;
- Back out and Quit as soon as you can;
- Start the game with Player Two;
- Add Player Two to Player One's Fireteam and launch Campaign;
This isn't a guarantee and we can imagine that 343 Industries are working to patch this as you're reading this, but it's something for those of you who are desperate.
Campaign Release Date
What we DO know is that Halo Infinite's campaign will release on December 8. The full game was initially supposed to release then, before the multiplayer was released early, so that's when you'll be able to experience the next chapter in the Halo story.
If you're a Game Pass subscriber, you'll be able to play Halo Infinite's campaign at no extra cost. It won't be free for absolutely everyone, like the multiplayer is, though.
We also know for sure that the co-op campaign will NOT release at the same time as the single-player campaign on December 8. You'll have to wait for it.

Co-op Campaign Release Date
For now, the release date of Halo Infinite's co-op campaign is unknown, but it'll likely be a few months into 2022.
In a video a few months ago, Joseph Staten, Creative Lead at 343, said that they're "targeting a campaign co-op launch with Infinite's second season."
Now that the multiplayer is out and Season 1 has begun, we know that Season 2 is due to begin sometime in May 2022. Exactly when in that month it's going to arrive, we don't know, but we'll be sure to let you know as soon as it's confirmed.
For now, the release of the co-op campaign hasn't been confirmed for Halo Infinite's second season, but that time would make sense as it's one of the sequel's most requested features.
