We'll look at some of the outright best weapons in GTA Online based on power and price and some budget options if you're struggling for cash.

GTA Online Best Weapons

Up-n-Atomizer

The Up-n-Atomizer was added as part of the Arena War update. Had you timed it right and logged in to GTA Online on Christmas Day 2018, you would have been given one of the best weapons for free.

Instead, it will now cost you a cool $399,000 and has no performance upgrades available. You can only change the tint of the weapons with the most expensive being Platinum for $12,500.

Railgun

The Railgun is another futuristic weapon that does massive damage but is hampered by its fire rate. As a single-shot gun, it's effective at dealing with vehicles but not as much against large groups of enemies.

Coming in at a costly $250,000, you need to be confident that you're up to the task of wielding this weapon before you cough up the cash. When in the right hands, it's easily one of the best weapons in GTA Online.

Assault Shotgun

At a much more reasonable $10,000, the Assualt Shotgun is a super effective close-quarters weapon sure to rip through any opponent to pieces, armour and all.

The catch is that you cannot purchase the weapon until you reach Rank 37, which may take some initial grinding. Once you have access, it's a must buy as one of the best all-round weapons in GTA Online especially for the price.

Special Carbine Mk II

The Special Carbine Mk II is, in our opinion, the best AR available in GTA Online and one of the best weapons in any category. It will set you back $135,000, to begin with, but there are so many upgrades that by the time you're done adding attachments and customising the weapon, you may double that cost.

It's entirely worth it though as you'll clean up and short and long-range and is even effective against vehicles. If you upgrade the Carbine just right, you'll have one of the best weapons available in GTA Online as well as one of the most expensive.

Heavy Sniper Mk II

Now one for the crowd who like their toys to be as big and obnoxious as possible. The Heavy Sniper Mk II will initially cost $165,375 and just like the Special Carbine, has countless upgrades available.

Unlike the Carbine, the Heavy Sniper is incredibly effective straight out of the box and the upgrades aren't nearly as essential. It's earned its spot on this list of the best GTA Online weapons for that reason.

AP Pistol

Finally, we come to the AP Pistol, by no means a starter weapon, despite its looks, as it unlocks after Rank 33. It may seem simple due to its price and upgradability, but it's seen many players through some rough battles in GTA Online.

Costing just $5,000 with various attachment upgrades and customisation options, it's a weapon you may become quite attached to and not want to upgrade from. Many players will roam around with this as their trusty backup weapon without a second thought and because of that, we see it as one of the best weapons in GTA Online.
