GTA Online's The Contract expansion is going to be one of the biggest post-launch updates we've seen from Rockstar Games so far - GTA Online has been out for a long time now and we can't believe it's taken so long for something like this to come out. Here's what time the update itself drops...
UPDATE - One hour to go!
It looks like Rockstar Games shared this release timeline a matter of hours ago - as you can see in the tweet below, we're looking at the following update times:
- 02:00 PST
- 05:00 EST
- 10:00 GMT
We're not expecting any server downtime, but be wary - there could be connection issues immediately after the update. A lot of people are going to be checking this out!
When does The Contract release for GTA Online?
At the moment, all we have is a release date - December 15th. GTA Online's next major update is dropping on a Wednesday, unlike the regular Weekly Updates that are scheduled for Thursdays. This makes using them to predict a specific release time for The Contract and the content that's coming with it a little uncertain.
The GTA Online Weekly Updates drop at the following times:
- 01:00 PST
- 04:00 EST
- 09:00 GMT
With this in mind, we could see The Contract release at the same time - following the schedule laid out by Rockstar Games with their Weekly Updates.
However, we could see it a little later. The Los Santos Tuners update didn't arrive until around the following time:
- 06:00 PST
- 09:00 EST
- 13:00 GMT
Without further confirmation from Rockstar Games, we're expecting the update to arrive at some point between the two times specified above. We should learn more about The Contract in the next two days, though - Rockstar Games usually likes to break down everything that's coming to GTA Online ahead of time. Keep an eye on their social media platforms and get ready for a fantastic narrative expansion featuring Franklin, Lamar, Dr Dre, and Chop - among others.
