It's an exciting time for GTA Online players.
The biggest update in GTA Online's history is still on its way, either slated for late this year or early next year. On top of this, the GTA online standalone for next gen is also in the works.

A new teaser points us to what could be several different big events coming to GTA Online. It also seems to reveal new expansion to the GTA Online map!
You can watch the teaser below:
While it's brief, the background of the teaser is clearly new areas. These new areas appear to include a new coastal scene, new farm areas, and more.
You can also pause the trailer at 2 seconds (if you're exact enough!) to see that the Los Santos map throughout the teaser turns into a different map entirely.
Whether these will soon be open to players in GTA Online remains to be seen. But Rockstar have given hints in that direction by stating they were placing their "...latest take on Heists in an entirely new location".

Whether this is a hint towards the upcoming GTA Online winter update (self-proclaimed to be the "biggest update ever"), standalone next gen game, map expansion, or some combination of the above, it should be a very hype new addition to the game!
