While we haven't see anything official revealed, GTA 6 rumours have been flying around for months and months now.
While no-one seems to know for sure, it's widely expected that Rockstar's next GTA will release sometime after 2023, with years still to wait.
Considering how popular GTA Online still is, that shouldn't come as much of a surprise, but that doesn't stop fans getting impatient.
GTA 6 to be Rockstar's only release this generation
The latest rumour/report comes from @AccNgt, who frequently answers fan questions. They've been correct in the past about some high profile games, but everything they say should be taken with a pinch of salt.
They suggest that GTA 6 will be the only game from Rockstar to release this generation (Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5) aside from any ports and remasters, such as the next-gen version of GTA V that was recently pushed back to March 2022.
While that doens't mean much for the Grand Theft Auto series, it does mean something to Red Dead Redemption fans who were hoping for a new game in the series to release in the next few years.
If GTA 6 is to be the only new game to release this generation, we're probably a minumum of five years from seeing anything else come out of Rockstar, Red Dead or otherwise.
The PS5/Xbox Series generation is only a year old as we enter 2022, with the next unlikely to arrive before 2026 or 2027. If these rumours are true, we won't we anything other than GTA 6 from Rockstar before then.

While this may seem like unsual, particularly to long term Rockstar fans, Red Dead Redemption 2 was actually the only brand new release last gen.
GTA V came to PS4 and Xbox One (we'll probably see it for generations to come) but that was it.
Unlike the previous generation, which saw multiple GTAs, Red Dead, L.A. Noire and more release, the Rockstar schedule has really slowed down.
Therefore, while GTA 6 being the only release on PS5 and Xbox Series X would be disappointing, it shouldn't come as THAT much of a surprise.
