Hoyoverse has revealed the characters and weapons for Genshin Impact 2.8, and that includes 5-star sword Summit Shaper, which will be back in a banner.
The Thundering Pulse, one of the best bows in the game, is the main attraction for the second Epitome Invocation.
However, players pulling in the Gacha system for this bow have the chance to get the Summit Shaper sword instead.
With that, we'll take a look at the value of this Banner, how Summit Shaper plays a part, and whether it will be worth your precious Primogems.
Summit Shaper Release Date
Summit Shaper will be available in Genshin Impact 2.8 via its second phase, which should run from August 2, 2022, to August 23, 2022.
The rest of the weapons for the second weapon banner include the 5-star Bow Thundering Pulse and the following 4-star weapons:
- Sacrificial Greatsword - Claymore
- Wine and Song - Catalyst
- Alley Hunter - Bow
- The Flute - Sword
- Dragon's Bane - Polearm
Summit Shaper Review
The Summit Shaper is part of the Liyue Series, 5-star weapons themed after Liyue, the Geo Nation.
The shared ability bonus of this series is Golden Majesty:
- Increases Shield Strength by 20–40%. Scoring hits on opponents increases ATK by 4–8% for 8s. Max 5 stacks every 0.3 seconds.
- While protected by a shield, this ATK increase effect is increased by 100%.
All weapons of this series share the same Base ATK: 46–608 and main attribute: 10.8% at Lv. 1 – 49.6% at Lv. 90 ATK.
The Summit Shaper allegedly to be the best weapon for Keqing with an Electro DMG build and a good option for Ayaka due to the high ATK percentage.
It is considered a niche sword due to the requirement of having a Geo character in your team to create shields.
In teams of Ayaka, Diona can provide the shield necessary to activate the extra ATK% from the passive, which may end up being the most use you'll get out of the Summit Shaper.
Is the Summit Shaper Worth Your Primogems?
The Summit Shaper is a good sword, but we don't recommend spending your Primogems to get it.
If you do have it in your inventory already, though, it is a weapon that is worth upgrading for DPS characters in teams with Geo supports.
Unfortunately, shields were recently nerfed by the appearance of debuffs like corrosion, so it will even be a bit weaker than it's previously been.
