HERALD: The Abyss Herald finally makes an appearance

The first quest of We Will Be Reunited has the players exploring an Abyss Order ruin, trying to stop a Treasure Hunter operation stealing treasures from the evil creatures.

  • Head to the Adventurer's Guild in Liyue
  • Go to the ruins marked on the map and enter the Domain (Suggested Level 28)
  • Navigate the Ruins
  • Escape the Ruins
    • Purple floor tiles will damage the player over time
  • Fight the Abyss Herald
    • Most of the Herald's attacks are easy to dodge
    • Players only need to drain the Herald's HP to 50%

Once the Abyss Herald is defeated, players can exit the Domain to finish the quest.

GUARDS: A bit more information about Ruin Guards and Hunters is revealed

The next segment follows the Traveler and Paimon as they team up with Dainsleif to find clues about what the Abyss Order is up to.

This quest mainly features battles against groups of Abyss Order mages and Hilichurls, with a few Ruin Guards and Hunters mixed in.

  • Follow the map to the first location
  • Fight the Abyss Order
    • x2 Abyss Mages
    • A handful of Hilichurls
  • Follow the map to the second location
  • Fight the Abyss Order
    • x2 Abyss Mages
    • A handful of Hilichurls
    • x1 Ruin Hunter
  • Follow the map to the third location
  • Fight the Abyss Order
    • x2 Abyss Mages
    • A handful of Hilichurls
    • x1 Ruin Guard

Fairly straightforward, but the second and third battles here present more of a challenge than the Abyss Herald from Involuntary Sacrifice.

The trick is to take care of the Hilichurls and Abyss Mages first before moving on to the Ruin Hunter and Ruin Guard while avoiding the larger foes' attacks.

RAZOR: The wolf pup makes a brief appearance defending Boreas

The information Dainsleif and the Traveler obtain lead them to the Church of Favonius and eventually to Wolvendom as the Abyss Herald makes its move.

  • Head to the Cathedral in Mondstadt
  • Go inside and talk to Barbara
  • Leave the Cathedral through the front doors
  • Talk to Dainsleif
  • Go to Wolvendom
  • Fight the Abyss Order
    • x2 Abyss Mages
    • A handful of Hilichurls
  • Head to Boreas' arena
  • Talk to Razor
  • Fight the Abyss Herald
    • This is similar to the last fight, with the addition of 2 Hilichurls
    • When low on HP, the Abyss Mage will put up a Hydro shield

The Abyss Herald at the end of this quest is still a reasonable easy battle, but players should still take out the two Hilichurls first, as they are low-hanging fruit.

The only main difference in this battle with the Abyss Herald is that players will need to completely deplete their HP for the battle to end, and it puts up a Hyrdo shield when its HP is low.

While the Abyss Herald can be Frozen, it does not stay so for long.

Once the battle is over, and the cutscene plays out, the quest ends.

A final surprise awaits players, as well as a monumental revelation.

  • Talk to Dainsleif
  • Go to Storm Terror's Lair
  • Head back to the Abyss Order ruins
  • Navigate the ruins
  • Fight the Abyss Herald
  • Leave the ruins

This is the final battle with the Abyss Herald, though it is exactly the same as the last battle, this time without the Hilichurls.

Once the Herald is defeated, there will be a major cutscene.

When the players leave the Domain, they will receive the final rewards for the Archon Quest.

BARBARA: Oh, you have no idea

As far as Archon Quests go, We Will Be Reunited gives players more information than all the previous quests combined, finally answering major questions about the Twins, Dainsleif, and Teyvat.

The most interesting part is that it stays separate from the Traveler's quest to visit the Seven Nations, though seamlessly places players back on that path at the end.

Many rumors were confirmed with the completion of this quest, while many were debunked.

In the end, the depth of Genshin Impact continues to grow, with no piece of information gleamed too small to be a clue as to what is going on.

We Will Be Reunited pulls in events from past quests that may have seemed minor that turn out to hint at the overall larger picture.

While this quest may not have given players any more insight into Inazuma, it provided much, much more.

Hopefully, Genshin Impact 1.5 will continue the main story, leading players closer and closer to Inazuma, and the eventual revelation of what happened between the gods and people of Teyvat so many centuries ago.

While players know they are in this for the long haul, the information given in this current quest should keep players happy for quite a bit before they can explore the new nation hopefully coming in the next few updates.

The knowledge about Dainsleif and his past is worth its weight in gold all by itself.
