Genshin Impact 3.1 King Deshret and the Three Magi will be a patch full of exciting stories and rewards for all players.
Starting on the same day as the Second Anniversary, version 3.1 introduces new characters, the Desert, and a large amount of Primogems.

Genshin Impact 3.1 Preload Release Date
The Genshin Impact 3.1 preload option is available now, and it will be open until the beginning of the server maintenance on launch day.
Genshin Impact 3.1 Maintenance Schedule
Genshin Impact servers will go under maintenance for Genshin Impact 3.1 on September 28, 2022, at 6:00 am server time (Chinese Standard Time).
In other time zones, Genshin Impact servers will go down at:
- September 27, 2022, 2:00 pm PST
- September 27, 2022, 5:00 pm EST
- September 27, 2022, 10:00 pm GMT
This downtime will last for around 5 hours, and players will receive compensatory Primogems for the time they cannot play.
Travelers will obtain a minimum of 300 Primogems. In addition, Hoyoverse will also give 300 Primogems for all the bug fixes found in the previous update, so be sure to pay extra attention!
Genshin Impact 3.1 File Size
The Genshin Impact 3.1 file size is considerably reduced from previous updates, which is a relief for many mobile players.
For Genshin Impact 3.1 on Android and IOS, players will need an extra 2.93 GB for Android and 2.04 GB for IOS. For players on PC, the version 3.1 file size is around 10GB.
Players on PlayStation will have to wait for the launch of Genshin Impact 3.1, as there are currently no preload options on the platform.
If you're in a pinch, you can also remove voice-over files from these updates to clear up some storage space.
How to Remove Voice-Over Files
Voice-Over files are characters' dialogues during cut scenes, and by removing them, players can save some precious space while still having the option to add them back later.
To remove these files, follow our steps below:
- Open the in-game Settings menu and head over to the Language section.
- In the Language section, select the Manage Voice-Over Files option.
- Remove the voice-over files for the specific languages you don't need.
How to Preload Genshin Impact 3.1
If you're looking to preload Genshin Impact 3.1 but aren't sure how to do it, we've got you covered.
PC
On PC, you have to boot up the game launcher and click on the "Game Pre-Installation" option on the screen.
After this, the game update should automatically install. Travelers can still play while preloading game resources.
Preloading will take up a certain amount of your network's bandwidth, so it's best to ensure you have a good network connection.
Mobile
Mobile players must log in to their accounts and go to the "Paimon Menu." Go to settings, then click "Pre-Install Resource Package."
If this does may spot the package on the main menu after logging in. Just click on it to get everything installed.
Travelers on Mobile cannot play the game while downloading resources, so it's best to start the process when you're taking a break or overnight.
PlayStation
Unfortunately, Playstation travelers have no option to preload the Genshin Impact 3.1 update. We'll update if that changes ahead of launch day.
The Playstation console downloads the entire game again to ensure there are no corrupt files. Therefore, to play Genshin Impact 3.0, Playstation players need to download around 40 GB worth of content first.
