We are less than a week away from the launch of Genshin Impact 2.7, the newest update in the adventures of the Traveler and Paimon!
In version 2.7, Yelan and other characters will help players deal with new threats found in The Chasm.
In the update, Genshin Impact will introduce two new characters, Yelan a new 5-star Hydro Bow character, and Kuki Shinobu a 4-star Sword Electro user.
Along with these two new characters, players can wish for the rerun of some favorites, including Xiao and Arataki Itto.
To get ahead of the game and be ready for launch time, here's how to preload Genshin Impact 2.7.
LATEST - Genshin Impact 2.7 Preload Time
The Genshin Impact 2.7 preload option is live now, and it will be available until the beginning of the Server Maintenance.
It seems the Patch is bigger than previous updates, one tip to make enough space is using the new option of removing Voice-Over Languages.
How to remove Voice-Over Files
Voice-Over files are the dialogues of characters during cut scenes, they can save some GB, and you can install them again if you change your mind.
- Open the in-game Settings menu and head over to the Language section.
- Inside the Language section, players will need to select the Manage Voice-Over Files option.
- Remove the voice-over files for the specific languages you don't need.
Server Maintenance Schedule
Genshin Impact servers will go under maintenance for Genshin Impact 2.7 on May 31, 2022, at 6:00 am at server time (Chinese Standard Time).
In other time zones, Genshin Impact servers will go down at:
- May 30, 2022, 2:00 pm PST
- May 30, 2022, 5:00 pm EST
- May 30, 2022, 10:00 pm GMT
Servers will be down for around 5 hours, and players will receive compensatory Primogems for the time they are not able to play.
Travelers will obtain a minimum of 300 Primogems. Additionally, Hoyoverse will give 300 Primogems as compensation for all the bug fixes found in the previous update.
Release Date & Time
Genshin Impact 2.7 will go live on May 31, 2022, at 11:00 am Server Time.
This breaks down to the following:
- May 30, 7:00 p.m. PDT
- May 30, 10:00 p.m. EST
- May 30, 4:00 a.m. GMT
The server's maintenance will take around five hours, with players being compensated 300 Primogems for the downtime.
Genshin Impact 2.7 File Size
It seems Genshin Impact 2.7's file size is considerable bigger than previous updated. It is around 11 GB for PC players.
In the case of mobile players, the IOS file size will be around 6.4 GB and 7 GB for Android.
How to Preload Genshin Impact 2.7
PC
On PC, you have to boot up the game launcher and click on the "Game Pre-Installation" option on the screen.
After this, the game update should automatically install. Travelers can still play while preloading game resources.
Preloading will take up a certain amount of your network's bandwidth, so it's best to make sure you have a good network connection.
Mobile
Mobile players need to log in to their accounts and go to the "Paimon Menu." Go to settings, then click "Pre-Install Resource Package."
If this doesn't work, you may spot the package on the main menu after logging in. Just click on it to get everything installed.
Travelers on Mobile cannot play the game while downloading resources, so it's best to start the process when you're taking a break or overnight.
PlayStation
Unfortunately for Playstation travelers, there is no option to preload the Genshin Impact 2.7 update just yet. We'll update if that changes ahead of launch day.
The Playstation console downloads the entire game again to ensure there are no corrupt files. Therefore, to play Genshin Impact 2.7, Playstation players need to download around 35 GB worth of content first.
