Mortal Kombat Movie Producer Teases Imminent News: Is The Trailer Dropping At Game Awards?

It looks like Mortal Kombat fans could be treated to the first-ever movie trailer at the Game Awards this year.

That's slightly speculative on our part but it doesn't take a detective to put two and two together.

One of the films main producers, Todd Garner, posted a not so cryptic tweet early Wednesday morning regarding an exciting update about the film.

The message simply read "News tomorrow..." Along with the films now-iconic logo.

What's also happening tomorrow? Why it's the Game Awards of course!

With Warner Brothers previously announcing that the film would release in 2021 in theatres and on HBO Max the same day, it stands to reason they will want to start teasing it on one of the biggest stages around.

Like many films, post-production was hampered by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, however, it did officially wrap filming late last year.

So they must have plenty of footage to reveal some sort of trailer, not least if the movie was originally planned to release on January 15th 2021.

Hopefully, there's no terrible CGI like we saw with the first Sonic trailer, but who knows.

It's not as though the original Mortal Kombat movies have set a high-bar for this new 2021 reboot to better; but still, a bit of quality would be nice.

Fans will know full well the enviable roster of characters at the filmmakers disposable and the many story threads they can draw from, but information on the film is still fairly limited.

All we do know with any certainty is the cast list, which you'll find below if you fancy doing a bit of cyberstalking to see how the actors and actresses compare to their fighting counterparts.
