The first of the infamous Double Gameweeks is upon us!
So here are our top picks as we head into Gameweek 19 on Saturday, 16 January.
Here's who we think can pick up clean sheets in GW 19.
Star Signing - Ederson (£6.0m)
Man City's double gameweek against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa make some of their stars sought after assets in Gameweek 19.
Ederson and the City defence have kept 6 clean sheets from their past 8 Premier League games, and have conceded the fewest goals of any side in the league so far this season.
Bargain Buy - Hugo Lloris (£5.6m)
Hugo Lloris is a 'keeper who despite not having a double gameweek in matchweek 19, could be a safe bet if you're in search of clean sheet points.
Spurs travel to face Sheffield Utd next, who have scored the fewest goals of any Premier League team this season, having scored just 1 goal in their previous 4 fixtures.
Attacking fullbacks! These wing backs provide potential for clean sheet points and attacking returns.
Star Signing - Joao Cancelo (£5.8m)
City defenders are fast becoming a must-have in FPL, with the most clean sheets of any Premier League team so far this season.
Cancelo may just be the pick of the bunch, scoring 61 points already this season, and creating more chances than any of his fellow defenders.
Bargain Buy - Aaron Cresswell (£5.4m)
The Hammers have two of the more enticing double gameweek fixtures, as they face Burnley and West Brom during Gameweek 19.
Cresswell has picked up 21 points from his past 3 fixtures, with 2 assists and 2 clean sheets in that period.
The creators! Here are the best FPL midfield options for GW19!
Star Signing - Kevin De Bruyne (£11.8m)
KDB could be your captain choice for Gameweek 19, as he comes up against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa at the Etihad in this double gameweek.
Having picked up 2 goals and 1 assist in his past two league games, City's Belgian playmaker is high on confidence.
Bargain Buy - Mason Mount (£6.8m)
Chelsea's double gameweek consisting of fixtures against Fulham and Leicester could mean points for Chelsea attackers.
Mount has made himself a regular under Frank Lampard, and despite blanking in his 3 previous league appearances, the Englishman always looks a main threat for the Blues, so could be worth the punt!
The danger men! Here are the most dangerous forwards as we approach GW 19.
Star Signing - Jamie Vardy (£10.2m)
Brendan Rodgers' Foxes face Southampton and Chelsea in the double gameweek, where Vardy will look to exploit the high line of both sides with his blistering speed on the counter attack.
Vardy already has 11 goals in the PRemier League so far this season, bettered only by Liverpool's Mo Salah.
Bargain Buy - Anthony Martial (£8.8m)
Manchester United's double gameweek sees Ole's men face Liverpool and Fulham in a matter of days.
Anthony Martial will be integral to the Red Devil's attack in both games if he is deemed fit, where United will look to extend their lead at the top of the table.
How to plan for upcoming Blank and Double Gameweeks
Managers must begin to plan ahead after the first Double Gameweek of 2020/21 FPL was confirmed.
Five matches that were originally scheduled for Gameweek 18 have been moved into Gameweek 19.
As a result, 10 sides will now blank in Gameweek 18 and instead play twice in the following round of fixtures.
The remaining 10 sides will play one match in each Gameweek.
Time to play your Wildcard?
There are a number of tactics to consider, with much depending on the number of chips still available to each manager.
Those with their first Wildcard remaining should look to play this in Gameweek 16, taking in as much information as possible on potential line-ups and injuries before finalising their squads.
Handily, the second Wildcard of the season is available once the Gameweek 16 deadline of 13:30 GMT on Monday 28 December has passed.
By playing their second Wildcard in Gameweek 17, managers could build their squads with players from Double Gameweek sides such as Chelsea, Leicester City, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Mo Salah and Bruno Fernandes will be major armband contenders for their two matches, while Jamie Vardy, Patrick Bamford and Jarrod Bowen play at home twice.
Use free transfers instead?
There is a strong case for remaining patient with the second Wildcard.
Many managers will instead focus their six free transfers from Gameweeks 14-19 on players with a Double Gameweek 19.
They can then play their Free Hit chip in Gameweek 18 to navigate the limited schedule and fill their squad with players who have a fixture.
Big-hitters from Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, along with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Wilfried Zaha and Callum Wilson, will be key targets in Gameweek 18.
Those managers could then play their Bench Boost chip in Double Gameweek 19, earning points from every player in their squad.
By using the second Wildcard in Gameweek 20, they can refresh their players for the subsequent fixtures.
