The first set of 2021 fixtures are approaching fast!
So here are the top Fantasy Premier League options which you should consider as we head towards matchweek 17.
Here are the 'keepers who are most likely to keep clean sheets in Gameweek 17.
Star Signing - Patricio (£5.4m)
Rui Patricio was unlucky to concede in the 93rd minute against Manchester United in Gameweek 16, as Rashford's deflected winner meant no clean sheet points for the Portuguese 'keeper.
Wolves face a Brighton side who have failed to score in three of their last five fixtures, and Nuno Espirito Santo's men will be looking to capitalise on the Seagull's poor goalscoring form.
Bargain Buy - Vicente Guaita (£4.8m)
After a 9 point haul against Leicester City, Vicente Guaita is in great form as we approach Gameweek 17.
The Eagles host a Sheffield Utd side who have failed to score in their past two fixtures in the Premier League.
Lethal left backs! These two left backs both carry a significant attacking threat.
Star Signing - Andrew Robertson (£7.3m)
Liverpool's star left back has picked up 26 points in his last 4 games for the Reds, with 2 clean sheets and 2 assists.
Klopp's men travel to St Mary's Stadium to face Southampton in their next Premier League game, where Liverpool hope to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Bargain Buy - Kieran Tierney (£5.3m)
The Gunners picked up two wins in a row for the first time since the start of the season, following their 1-0 win against Brighton in midweek.
Kieran Tierney is a constant threat down the left flank for Arsenal, who come up against a struggling West Brom.
Goalscoring midfielders! Here are our top midfield picks for Gameweek 17.
Star Signing - Bruno Fernandes (£11.2m)
United's Portuguese talesman has totalled an outstanding 35 points over the course of the past 3 gameweeks!
Although Ole's men host a now resolute Aston Villa, you can bet that Bruno will be in on the act should Man Utd find the back of the net.
Bargain Buy - Wilfried Zaha (£7.4m)
Roy Hodgson's Eagles host bottom of the table Sheffield Utd, who have conceded 27 goals already this season.
Zaha's confidence will be sky high heading into Gameweek 17, after his excellent volleyed finish against Leicester sealed an important point for Crystal Palace.
Target men! We've picked out two strikers who could find the back of the net in GW 17.
Star Signing - Harry Kane (£11.0m)
Jose Mourinho's team host Leeds in their next fixture, who have leaked goals in certain games this season, having conceded 6 to Man Utd, 4 to Liverpool and 3 to Fulham.
The Spurs striker will be hoping to find the back of the net in Gameweek 17, following a run of 3 consecutive goalless games in the Premier League.
Bargain Buy - Christian Benteke (£5.5m)
Crystal Palace's target man has re-found his form under Roy Hodgson this season, scoring 3 goals and having a growing influence on general play.
Benteke's eight shots in the box in the past four gameweeks is a team-leading total for Palace, who face a poor Sheffield Utd defence.
How to plan for upcoming Blank and Double Gameweeks
Managers must begin to plan ahead after the first Double Gameweek of 2020/21 FPL was confirmed.
Five matches that were originally scheduled for Gameweek 18 have been moved into Gameweek 19.
As a result, 10 sides will now blank in Gameweek 18 and instead play twice in the following round of fixtures.
The remaining 10 sides will play one match in each Gameweek.
Time to play your Wildcard?
There are a number of tactics to consider, with much depending on the number of chips still available to each manager.
Those with their first Wildcard remaining should look to play this in Gameweek 16, taking in as much information as possible on potential line-ups and injuries before finalising their squads.
Handily, the second Wildcard of the season is available once the Gameweek 16 deadline of 13:30 GMT on Monday 28 December has passed.
By playing their second Wildcard in Gameweek 17, managers could build their squads with players from Double Gameweek sides such as Chelsea, Leicester City, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Mo Salah and Bruno Fernandes will be major armband contenders for their two matches, while Jamie Vardy, Patrick Bamford and Jarrod Bowen play at home twice.
Use free transfers instead?
There is a strong case for remaining patient with the second Wildcard.
Many managers will instead focus their six free transfers from Gameweeks 14-19 on players with a Double Gameweek 19.
They can then play their Free Hit chip in Gameweek 18 to navigate the limited schedule and fill their squad with players who have a fixture.
Big-hitters from Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, along with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Wilfried Zaha and Callum Wilson, will be key targets in Gameweek 18.
Those managers could then play their Bench Boost chip in Double Gameweek 19, earning points from every player in their squad.
By using the second Wildcard in Gameweek 20, they can refresh their players for the subsequent fixtures.
