It's all about clean sheets with the 'keepers!

Nuno Espirito Santo's side face Burnley next, who have scored the least goals of any Premier League team so far this season, with just 6.

Despite failing to keep clean sheets in his recent fixtures, the Wolves 'keeper is a top pick for Gameweek 14.

Bargain Buy - Emi Martinez (£4.8m)

An away meeting with West Brom is another opportunity for Martinez to pick up clean sheet points.

Emi Martinez, who's totalled 19 points from his last two fixtures, will be hoping to keep a West Brom side who have scored just 10 goals all season at bay.

We've gathered the best defensive options for Gameweek 14!

Star Signing - Nelson Semedo (£5.5m)

Selected by just 2.8% of FPL managers, Semedo could be a great differential for Gameweek 14.

With Wolves coming up against a Burnley side who have struggled to score this season, Semedo could pick up clean sheet points whilst providing a threat going forward.

Bargain Buy - Tariq Lamptey (£4.8m)

Brighton will look to keep consecutive clean sheets as we approach Gameweek 14, as they travel to Sheffield Utd.

Lamptey not only provides the potential for clean sheet points, but is always an attacking threat for the Seagulls.

Magical midfielders! Here are our top midfield picks.

Star Signing - Bruno Fernandes (£11.0m)

A home meeting with Leeds United allows Bruno Fernandes the chance to immediately make amends for his blank in the previous Gameweek of Fantasy Premier League.

Away from home, Leeds have conceded 69 shots in the penalty area and 20 big chances. Both of those totals are among the worst two records in the Premier League, so Bruno is surely set to take advantage!

Bargain Buy - Curtis Jones (£4.4m)

The Liverpool midfielder is in 1.1% of FPL squads and has started each of the last three Gameweeks, playing 90 minutes on each occasion.

Although Jones has failed to find the net, the underlying numbers highlight his goal threat ahead of a trip to Crystal Palace, with his six shots in the box over Gameweeks 11 to 13 matching the tally of his team-mate Mo Salah.

Star Strikers! These two forwards have been vital to their respective team's success this season.

Star Signing - Harry Kane (£10.9m)

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry kane should be backed at home to Leicester City.

Kane has a prolific record against the Foxes, scoring 14 goals in his 10 Premier League meetings.

Bargain Buy - Callum Wilson (£6.6m)

Newcastle's star striker has produced returns in seven of his 11 starts, including double-figure hauls in home matches against Burnley and Everton.

The Magpies face Fulham at home, who have failed to keep a clean sheet on their travels in 2020/21.

How to plan for upcoming Blank and Double Gameweeks

Managers must begin to plan ahead after the first Double Gameweek of 2020/21 FPL was confirmed.

Five matches that were originally scheduled for Gameweek 18 have been moved into Gameweek 19.

As a result, 10 sides will now blank in Gameweek 18 and instead play twice in the following round of fixtures.

The remaining 10 sides will play one match in each Gameweek.

Time to play your Wildcard?

There are a number of tactics to consider, with much depending on the number of chips still available to each manager.

Those with their first Wildcard remaining should look to play this in Gameweek 16, taking in as much information as possible on potential line-ups and injuries before finalising their squads.

Handily, the second Wildcard of the season is available once the Gameweek 16 deadline of 13:30 GMT on Monday 28 December has passed.

By playing their second Wildcard in Gameweek 17, managers could build their squads with players from Double Gameweek sides such as Chelsea, Leicester City, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Mo Salah and Bruno Fernandes will be major armband contenders for their two matches, while Jamie Vardy, Patrick Bamford and Jarrod Bowen play at home twice.

Use free transfers instead?

There is a strong case for remaining patient with the second Wildcard.

Many managers will instead focus their six free transfers from Gameweeks 14-19 on players with a Double Gameweek 19.

They can then play their Free Hit chip in Gameweek 18 to navigate the limited schedule and fill their squad with players who have a fixture.

Big-hitters from Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, along with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Wilfried Zaha and Callum Wilson, will be key targets in Gameweek 18.

Those managers could then play their Bench Boost chip in Double Gameweek 19, earning points from every player in their squad.

By using the second Wildcard in Gameweek 20, they can refresh their players for the subsequent fixtures.
