Epic Games has just released a small Maintenance Patch for Fortnite and we have everything you need to know about why you need to download it and what it's going to do.
What does the new update do?
The new Fortnite Maintenance Patch update is going to tackle a couple of issues that might be affecting you. The update itself should address some stability issues and fix a bug that is stopping the Crew Protocol back bling from showing up in-game.
The tweet announcing the update - which you can find on FortniteStatus - reads as follows:
" We are deploying a maintenance patch on PC, Playstation consoles, Xbox consoles and Android to address stability issues and the Crew Protocol back bling not showing up on login. You will be able to download the patch before launching your game, no server downtime is required."
The stability issues don't appear to be Server-side, however - Epic Games has clarified that no Server Downtime is going to be needed for this minor Maintenance Patch.
You will, however, have to download the patch prior to booting up Fortnite again.
This Maintenance Patch is going to be a handful of MB in size, so shouldn't take too long, and is available on the following platforms:
- Xbox One
- Xbox Series X
Epic Games has stated the following regarding Nintendo Switch title updates:
"We will update you when the maintenance patch is available on Nintendo Switch at a later time."
Fortnite Season 7 is almost over and we're staring Season 8 in the face. Naruto, Spider-Man, and more are rumoured to be featured in the Battle Pass and it looks like Shang-Chi - the Master of Kung Fu - is available right now in the Item Shop. Happy hunting!
