Fortnite, Epic Games and Apple have been a little up in the air over the past few years. A lawsuit regarding the cut of microtransaction portions has left a pretty bad relationship with the two - resulting in Epic losing access to the iOS market. Luckily, a new way around this has been found, thanks to Xbox. Here's what we know so far.
How to play Fortnite on iOS
Before we start, there are a few things you should do. First, make sure you have an Xbox account. You won't need access to a Game Pass subscription to get it working
Now that your Xbox account is set up, sign into Epic Games using that account. Click on this link and click on the option that says "Sign In With Xbox Live". From here, put in your details.
After this is all done, open up the following link from Safari. It will bring you to the page to access Fortnite via Cloud Gaming. Click play and make sure you are signed in. You can then just play Fortnite like you normally would. It is recommended to connect a Bluetooth controller to your phone to get the best experience, especially considering the competition.
What to do after this?
As pointed out by Eurogamer, Safari has the option to pin a page to your home screen. Just click the small box with an arrowing point up at the bottom of the page. This will give you access to a multitude of share options. Scroll down until you see the option to add it to your home screen. This will then make it look like its own application.
Apart from a small lag after picking on it, you won't often notice the difference between this and an official app. As it continues to gain popularity, it only seems likely this app will get more advanced too. It's genuinely not a bad way to play the game - especially if you don't have any alternatives.
