How do you get your hands on Alien Nanites in Fortnite & What do they do?

Fortnite's Alien Nanites have been teased for weeks via challenges and quests, but they're now finally live in the game. However, getting them isn't that easy.

Below, we've got a handy guide on how to find them so that you can begin crafting and having fun.

What Alien Nanites Do in Fortnite

Alien Nanites can be used for two different things in Fortnite. The first it to create a low gravity area wherever you throw it.

As the official description reads: "Throw one down to create a low-gravity biome that you can exit and enter. It’s as thick as gelatin (their planet’s probably super humid), so you’ll practically start swimming when you jump. To descend faster in the biome, try crouching. Also: you won’t get hurt if you jump out of one from a high place."

Also, you can craft three different weapons with Alien Nanites. Those recipes are:

• One Alien Nanites + a Rare or higher Submachine Gun to create a Kymera Ray Gun
• One Alien Nanites + a Rare or higher rarity Assault Rifle to create a Pulse Rifle
• One Alien Nanites + a Rare or higher rarity Sniper to create a Rail Gun

How to Get Alien Nanites in Fortnite Season 7

Now for the tricky bit, actually getting them. According to Epic themselves, "Alien Nanites can be found on the ground, on top of Abductors, and in the Mothership." However, it's not proving that simple.

According to legendary Fortnite insider, Hypex, "you have a better chance of finding Alien Nanites on the Mothership or Abductors but both of those are currently bugged and don't spawn in-game."

Therefore, you'll have to simply hope that you find them in chests, on the ground, or by looting players you take out.

They WILL be available in the Mothership and from Abductors eventually, but they aren't right now. We'll be sure to update you as soon as that issue is fixed.
