Fortnite Update 20.30 Release Date & Time

As always, the Fortnite Update should drop on a Tuesday, in this case, that means the release date is 3 May. The usual timings should also apply meaning that server downtime will begin at;

  • 1 am PT
  • 4 am ET
  • 9 am BST
  • 10 am CET

Matchmaking will actually be disabled around 30 minutes prior to the above times to ensure that all active matches have time to end.

What to expect in this update

The headline content for this update seems to be anything related to the rumoured Star Wars event that is set to go live on Wednesday, 4 May.

A well-documented stream of Star Wars content, including the likes of Lightsabers and other cosmetics, have been updated in recent months. This all pointed towards the idea that a full season dedicated to George Lucas' franchise could be coming.

Instead, it now appears that a celebratory event, starting on Star Wars day no less, is how things will play out. We're still incredibly excited to see how it all plays out.

A quest has already leaked suggesting that Lightsabers are definitely coming back as we'll need to do melee damage with them. Even if all we get is this, it's still worth getting excited about but we all know Epic likely have something else planned that will blow us all away!
